Curriculum Vitae – MAJED AL-ZEER

Majed Khalil Rashid Al-Zeer was born in the village of Harmala in the Bethlehem Governorate on December 8, 1962. He is married and has four sons and a daughter. He completed his primary education at Khalid bin Al-Walid, Saad bin Abi Waqqas, and Hariri schools, and his secondary education at Hawalli School in Kuwait. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Kuwait University in 1986 and a master’s degree in refugee studies from the University of East London in the UK in 2002.
Al-Zeer was active in student affairs, serving as President of the Islamic Association of Palestinian Students in Kuwait between 1984 and 1986. He engaged in work for Palestine, focusing on the issue of Palestinian refugees and the right of return. He also participated in institutional and union work in Europe, becoming a member of both the British National Union of Journalists and the International Federation of Journalists.

He Began His Profession In Journalism And Became A Member Of The British National Union of Journalists (NUJ), And Also A Member Of The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).

1996

Co-founded the Palestinian Return Centre (PRC) in 1996 and served as its chairman until 2020.

2003

Co-founded the Palestinians in Europe Conference in 2003 and chaired it until 2021.

2014

Moved to live in the German capital, Berlin, in 2014.

Co-founded the Popular Conference

2017

Co-founded the Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad in 2017 and serves as the First Deputy Chairman of the General Asimply.

2020

Authored the book “Closer to return” in Arabic : ‘Views and positions on Palestinian civil action, the right of return, refugees, and events related to the Palestinian cause over two decades’. published by the Palestinian Return
